The Joint Committee were disappointed at the long delay in putting together a Care Pathway for people with ME/CFS. It was agreed that a special meeting would be held in December 2008 so that both Patients/Carers and NHS Representatives could discuss the new Service Specification.

Joint HOSC 12/08/08
The ME/CFS Service Development Project Group has been set up to redesign the Norfolk and Suffolk ME/CFS Service. NHS Gt Yarmouth & Waveney stated that:
- the service specification had not changed since Dr Mitchell's retirement
- ongoing care is not provided by the service and should be provided by the patients GP
- the new service will be evidence based and reflect the NICE Guidelines

Suffolk HOSC 13/05/08
Suffolk Health Scrutiny decided to refer the concerns regarding the ME/CFS Service to Norfolk and Suffolk Joint Health Scrutiny Committee.
The Committee noted that there is a great deal of unrest regarding access to the ME/CFS Service.
