Local Service

The Norfolk and Suffolk ME and CFS Service is jointly commissioned by GP led Clinical Commissioning Groups (CCG's) in Norfolk and Suffolk.  The current service is now delivered by East Coast Community Healthcare Community Interest Company.

Referral is via your GP.

The service is therapy led and staffed by:
  • Occupational Therapists/Physiotherapists
  • GP's with a special interest in ME and CFS (GPwSI)
  
Clinics are held in the following locations:
    Norfolk
    * Nelson Medical Centre, Gt Yarmouth
    * Bowthorpe Health Centre, Norwich
    * Kirkley Mill Health Centre, Lowestoft
    * St James Medical Practice, Kings Lynn

    * Aylsham Care Trust Centre, Aylsham 
    * Sole Bay Health Centre, Reydon

    Suffolk

    * Stow Lodge Centre, Stowmarket


      Patients and Carers are working with the NHS to deliver improvements to the service so that the needs of all patients with ME and CFS in our area are met.  These improvements will include:
      • The appointment of a biomedical consultant or consultants
      • Opening of more clinics in Norfolk and Suffolk
      • Education of GP's
      • Development of a new model of care
      The NHS has made the following commitment:
      'It is the intention of all three PCT's that the development of services for ME/CFS will be a true partnership venture with patient and carers working with the PCT's to create a world class service'
